The material that used for kitchen set should be durable. Materials must be strong, resistant to fire and water.
Material that can be used for filing cabinets are wood. The type could be solid wood or processed wood. The use of processed wood including plywood and plywood multiplex. Thickness from 3mm to 18mm. The top can be given a layer of teak with 3mm thick.
For the inner side of cabinet, we can use the top layer of melaminto wood which has white color with a thickness of 1mm and 3mm. It doesn’t need finishing because melaminto not a layer of natural wood. This wood does not have pores, so it is easy to clean and resistant against humidity. Pure white color that makes the shelves look much brighter.
Blockteak or blockboard can also be an option. This is a wood consisting of layers of teak on the outside and solid wood pieces in the middle. This wooden slabs have the same size with plywood, which 120cmx240cm with thickness 15mm, and 18mm. Blockboard or Blockteak consisting of one side and two side.
There are also MDF (Medium Density Fiber) and HDF (High Density Fiber), type of wood which have material from pressed wood. This type of wood must be layered with HPL (High Laminated Press) for finishing.
