Using correct lighting equipment and the right light bulbs around your home is a skill that can help you enjoy your most time at home. That’s because the lighting in the house has two different purposes, the first is the function of lighting itself, and the second is to establish a mood.
With such thinking, consider the location of each room in your house and the main functions of each room. What activities that often occur in that room? How much light is usually required for these activities? Are there any interesting objects in the room that you really want to show to attract attention?
By asking these questions can help you to create a lighting design layout to suit your home, both form and function. Most of the lighting equipment that you choose for your design will most likely fall into these three categories, general lighting, task lighting, and floodlights. Let us discuss each in more detail.
General lighting may be the type of lighting in which most people are familiar with this. Simply put, this is the main lighting source in the room, usually a lamp on the ceiling. There is an almost endless array of lighting equipment that can be used for all three types of lights, whether it be general, task, or accent lighting. But try to think ahead and plan for every room in your house so you can use any type of light fixture to maximum potential.
