Are you kind of person who likes to have breakfast in bed? If so, you can make a bedside table that also functions replace breakfast tray. The design is not as complicated as we imagine, really.

One of the advantages of multifunctional furniture, in addition to efficient use of space, is practical. For people who like to breakfast or eat snacks, while relaxing in bed, breakfast tray is absolutely necessary. Certainly it can be very troublesome, to keep the breakfast tray in the room. But, it can be more impractical if we have to get to the kitchen, whenever required.

If so, it means you need a furniture that can accommodate this function. What if we take inspiration from the hotels?

For people who love to travel and staying in a hotel, probably familiar with this one table form. A bedside table that can also be a breakfast tray.

The design is similar to the C letter, is composed of three wooden boards, could also be made of plywood. The exact shape as can be seen in this photo. To be comfortable, adjust its size to the height of the bed, at least make the table 1 foot higher than the surface of the mattress. To help us move the table, fill the bottom with four small wheels.

The little owner of this sweet room is a fans of princess characters in fairy tales. No wonder when the room decor was created as the princess room.

As usual, the pink color is often become a choice for the daughter’s room. So does this child’s room. In accordance with the owner’s favorite, the room was created in the style of a princess themed.

Room width of 13.5 x 8 ft was filled with classical style furnitures, like in the princess palace. Bedside tables and cupboards plus ornate arched pillared bed with headboard. More cute with the addition of a canopy and mosquito net. Feels like in a princess’s bedroom, right?

The room also become more special with a ceiling display. Room ceiling was decorated with the wallpaper image. In accordance with the overall theme rooms, wallpaper theme is also a princess. There was a picture of palace and the fairies in there. If you watched closely, the furniture in these rooms are quite large, as in the teen room. Though the owner of this room is still 3.5 years old. Placement of large sized furniture is intentional by her parents. So this room can be use for a long time. So no need to frequently replace the furniture, at least until the room owner become a teenager.

Nowadays, the kitchen can be a multifunctional place. Not just for cooking and dining, even work could be done here. Want to know what kitchen could be the work place?

The kitchen that we can see in this photo is located on land measuring 20ft x 20ft. Created with modern design with island in the middle. Modern impression also comes from the choice of color, black and white, eternal mix that never become obsolete. Also equipped with an extra counter top, on one side of the kitchen. These extra counter top could have many functions.

Equipped with two chairs, this area could be just a sitting area. Can also be food and breakfast table. Even used to work. Bring piles of office working files and laptop, then start working here. A major campaign has been launched by Scotland to try to encourage people to recycle more frequently.  The government of Scotland has also praised the efforts of the public in creating an environment which is greener and cleaner.

Scotland, as a nation, has provided a new look into how well the country is recycling. It shows that many items such as newspapers, magazine, and glass are being recycled at much higher rates.  However, the report also shows which waste now needs to be targeted.  The average household puts approximately 573 lbs. of items which are recyclable into the waste basket each year.

During this new Zero Waste campaign the government of Scotland will work with local grocers and authorities in an effort to make the even public more aware of what they can do to help with their part in recycling.  They will launch television and radio advertising programs for as much as 6 weeks.  They will also tour a 10’ blue elephant to iconic locations in Scotland to remind people to recycle their waste, more frequently.  The elephant will also be seen at numerous supermarkets.

Richard Lochhead, who is the Environment Secretary, and local school children visited the Safari Park located in Blair Drummond to launch the recycling drive, which is featured in the elephant.  He said that the results of the report showed that the program has made great strides in the households in Scotland; however, it also shows that they are still disposing of renewable resources.

The nation can’t afford to lose sight of the important steps they need to take while they seek to tackle even bigger environmental issues, such as climate change.  Lochhead also added that recycling can make a really big difference by reducing the waste that is put into landfills and thereby helping Scotland to become a zero waste society. Although the current campaign has been very successful, there is still much more work to do. However, it is felt that with the continued support of the public of Scotland, they will meet their goals.

Some ecological friendly entrepreneurs have suggested a radical new plan in an effort to reduce energy consumption in the home. They say that rooftops can now be treated with a new kind of smart roof which is made out of a material that is temperature sensitive and produced from cooking oil has been used.

The biological based roof coating can help reduce both cooling and heating costs when it responds to the environment externally. It will also reduce emissions from the organic compounds which are volatile and are found in roofing products that are petroleum based and help to save electricity and fuel. It will also provide another use for millions of gallons of used cooking oil after it has been used to cook chicken nuggets and French fries.

The idea of this new roof material is that the roof will collect the sunlight and convert it into heat, which will save on your energy bills in the winter and in summer your roof will reflect the heat away, which will keep your home cool and help avoid the need for air conditioning.

The temperature in your house is difficult to manage unless you do something drastic like paint your house white when it is hot and black when it is cold. However, this waste based roofing material can be tuned during its manufacture to change from reflector to absorber at temperatures that it is suited to where it is to be used.

The waste cooking oil is converted into a polymer, during the manufacture of the roof coating, that is then converted to a liquid form which then turns the polymer into a plastic like material. Also the resulting roofing material is virtually odorless. Manufacturers can potentially produce the roofing material it in any shade, ranging from black to clear. The material is also nontoxic and nonflammable.

However, you shouldn’t try to get up on your roof with a drum of used cooking oil that you got from your local fast food restaurant. A plan like that won’t work since it doesn’t have the secret ingredient and, in addition to the resulting stench, it could also pose a possible fire hazard and the risk of explosion. It is estimated that the used cooking oil roof coatings may be in use within 3 years.
